The Department of Posts (DoP) has launched two digital platforms—‘Know Your DIGIPIN’ and ‘Know Your PIN Code’—to modernise India’s address system and improve geospatial governance under the National Geospatial Policy 2022.

– Integrates with Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to enhance logistics, emergency response, and digital governance.
– Especially useful for providing digital addresses in remote and underserved regions.
Know Your PIN Code– Digitally defines and geo-fences over 1.5 lakh PIN Code boundaries for improved location accuracy.
– Uses GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) for real-time PIN identification.
– Includes public feedback mechanisms for dynamic updating and validation of the PIN Code database.
– Aims to boost efficiency in e-commerce delivery, emergency services, and rural postal logistics.
